Due date so that your husband hopefully has time to grade finals and submit grades before having a newborn at home to attend to.

Also, my OB wouldn't schedule a C-section before exactly 40 weeks - maybe something to ask your OB, unless they have already OK'd the earlier dates!

I say your due date so that your husband can deal with finals. Plus, then your mom will be there to help get your other LO to daycare before daycare closes for the holidays. So you won't have to mess with loading up the infant twice a day to do pickup/drop off at daycare until the middle of January.

Why do you think you'll have a C-section?

I voted your due date because if it were me I would wait as long as possible to try to have a vaginal delivery.

Since you went into labor at 40+2 I guess I would schedule it a little earlier since the old wives tale (or is it true?) is that it happens a tad earlier/faster the second time. Also yes, I was wondering if DH could have someone else administer the final exams, so if that's the case, it would be possible to have the c-section any time after Dec. 7...

Also, husband can have someone else proctor exams but will need to have final grades completed and submitted to the college by Dec. 15.

All great things to consider! No major risk if I go into spontaneous labor.

If there is no risk with going into labor i would choose due date due to your husbands schedule, you will need/want him with you as much as possible right after. However, if there is risk I would do the first day allowed at 39 weeks.

I would do December 4th because it means a little while longer of your toddler being in daycare and you being able to focus on baby. It also would be nice to have your mom around for drop offs and then once exams are over your husband could take over. By the 17th (when she is out), you will be cleared to drive again and will be feeling so much better. I would also much rather have more recovery time under my belt (3 weeks) if I could by Christmas.

ETA: I am now leaning towards Monday the 7th, only because I realized your Mom is only staying for a week and I would want her to be there during the time my husband was dealing with finals. I also thought the weekend nurses weren't as great.

This is totally cray, but my due date was 10 December and I was hoping for anything after the 12th to eliminate the confusion between the European and American dates. So I'd vote the 12th.

Does your husband have to be at finals? You'll need him with you as much as possible because moving around with a c section is hard in the beginning. If he does, then I vote 12/11. If he doesn't, then I vote 12/4 - one of the perks of a scheduled c section is being pregnant one less week (if possible).

Is there a serious risk associated with you going in to spontaneous labor before the c section? If so, I would schedule right at 39 weeks (12/4), if not, then I would go for your due date.

So it looks like I may end up with a C Section this time around and I don't know which date I should choose. Which would you choose (assuming I get the day I'm hoping for)?

Some info to consider:
- I will likely be in the hospital for 3 nights (husband will stay with me, my mom will stay at our house with toddler)
- My toddler goes to daycare Monday-Thursday but daycare closes 12/17-1/15
- My mom will stay for a week (so we be around a few days after I return from the hospital)
- Husband works at a school and is on winter break beginning December 12 (finals week is 12/7-12/11, which means final exam reviews typically take place on 12/4)
- Due date is Friday, December 11.
- First born was vaginal delivery at 40+2

Suggestions/thoughts are much appreciated!
