We read the Secrets of the Baby Whisperer. I think it would have worked well for us if DD was a more textbook sleeper. However, she would never nap for more than 30 minutes at a time, so her system didn't really work for us in the end.

I quite liked Moms on Call and Babywise - both were helpful when I was trying to get LO on a more of a schedule when he was around 2 or 3 months old. Honestly though, Hellobee was the best resource!

@Foodnerd81: I am starting to feel that way! I spent all these months reading about how to be pregnant, but I think it is much more important to know how to actually take care of this baby. :) Although I am sure nothing can actually prepare me for what it will really be like.

I've heard really good things about Happiest Baby on the Block, so I'd like to get that or the DVD.

Thanks to HBers and some mom friends, I have realized that it's more important to prepare for life with a newborn than labor and delivery. Not that I feel at all prepared for either at this point!

Dr. Sears - The Baby Book. Fantastic! Also liked the Dr. Sears Baby Sleep Book, Breastfeeding Book, and Family Nutrition Book.

I didn't read any before LO arrived, which I came to regret. In retrospect, I can't help but wonder what the hell I was thinking! When LO was about two weeks old my step-mother bought me "What to Expect the First Year" and I think it's pretty good. I was initially kind of skeptical since everyone steered me away from "What to Expect When You're Expecting," which is by the same authors. But so far, so good!

I feel like I have read/watched plenty to prepare me for childbirth (as if that is possible), but I am feeling like with only 6 or 7 weeks left, I'd like to start reading up on actually caring for a baby-sleeping, eating, development, etc.

Did you have any favorites?
