I used Ameda for my first and it was ok... pumped plenty of milk but it would take me forever to get a letdown. Got Spectra S2 for second kiddo born a month ago and it's terrific! I am breastfeeding full-time but can also pump up to 3-4 ounces in less than 10 min in between feedings.

@Adira: They still make it. I just bought one less than a month ago. There was a model change though but it was really insignificant.

Spectra!! I had a Hygeia last time though, and it was a powerhouse. I EPed with it for 11 months - it rocked.

@Ms. RV: I LOVED my Phillips Avent. It was sooooooooooo much more comfortable to use than my Medela PISA and I loved that it was a closed system. I was so sad when the motor died on me! :( Mine was the Twin Electric though, which I hear they don't make anymore.

@regberadaisy: That's so weird, I never had that problem!

Next time I'm going for Spectra as long as insurance covers it!

@regberadaisy: I could, technically, but since I've used it every day for the past 2.5 years, the battery on it is pretty shot, and I need all new accessories again. Totally doable, but my insurance just finally started giving free pumps, so I took them up on it and got the Medela (only one offered), since it comes with all the accessories and all that jazz.

I used a Hygeia for my first baby, and I used it up until just a few weeks ago. I really, really liked it, but the only annoying part is that you have to order parts for it online (unless you're lucky and a store near you carries them). I just always wished that I could go to Target and pick stuff up for it. It was great, though. I now have a Medela PISA (thanks, insurance), and it's taking me some getting used to :-/

I use Philips Avent. I've only used it for two weeks (mostly to build supply) and I have no complaints. The flanges are comfy, and the system is easy enough to clean.

I'm nearing the end of my pumping journey with DD2. But God I am not a fan of the Medela PISA! I'm on my fourth set of tubes because milk Keeps going into the tubes while I'm pumping. My Ameda the first time didn't seem to have the same power as the Medela but at least everything stayed clean and the parts were easy to clean.

What closed system did you use or are hoping to use next time?
