When we attended our Child Safety &amp; CPR class, they said no one would perform a check if we're there already giving birth. They only do checks on selected days by appointment only. Probably not going to happen. </p> <p>Anyways, what happens if you don't go to a scheduled appointment and go into labor early? Then we took them to be checked. We had them almost perfect, except she got them in a little bit tighter. Once you see any errors you made, you should be able to do it correctly the next time. If you do it early, you know it's done before LO arrives, and you'll be able to do it correctly the next time if you need to take them out!</p> <p>P.S. Sooo excited for Baby ALIVOO01! Like @foodnerd said, you should leave knowing how to install it properly yourself, different ways in different seating positions in your car, so *if* you needed to uninstall it it shouldn't be an issue. Also if you're strapped for time the police station I went to does it by appt with certified people too. (Not all cops/fire fighters do the checks.) Who knew! </p> <p>He prefers the hospital check because they use National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) certified technicians vs just "someone" at the fire station/police department. However, the hospital is only doing car seat checks twice in July (beginning and end). I figured beginning would be too early because we'd have to drive around with the base all the time for a month, but end of July would be too late because I'm due August 9th. Which date would you pick? </p>
