It's organic but refined (what we had in our cupboard), and it's worked just as well as the Triple Paste! I'm totally a coconut oil convert. We've been fortunate that DS doesn't get rashes very often so we don't change it up. We do plenty of diaper-free time. And we use the Motherlove or Earth Mama Angel Baby ointment. He had an...open sore? Almost looked like a blister after it popped? Sort of cratered? It remained stubbornly unchanged for days. We went through the list of things the pedi's RN had told us to do last time he had a rash (lots of diaper-free time, diaper cream, baking soda in the tub, wet wash clothes instead of diaper wipes...) but nothing changed it at all--not worse, but nothing had an effect. Then the rest of his bum started looking...raw? Almost like carpet burn. So I called the pedi's office wanting to know what else to do, and since I'd done everything they'd have first recommended I try they had me bring him in to look at it and his pedi diagnosed it.
