@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Thanks! That’s reassuring.

@Kaohinani: That’s a great point about both the dress and the braid. I’m going to have to do a test day and see how well it holds.

@Foodnerd81: 1 and 2 are definitely closer to my day to day (though I definitely don’t take time to make such perfect waves normally). It does make sense to try to make it reflect real life.

@erinbaderin: Both the boots and sweaters are from Carters! Let me know if you can’t find them and I’ll get in my laptop later to find the links.

I agree with #2 or #3 - I think #4 is a little too styled, and I prefer having a bit of it pulled back, especially if the photos are going to be at all un-posed (like you playing with/picking up the kids, etc).

Also, I love those boots! Can I ask where they’re from?

Assuming you were your hair down somewhat often anyway, I like 1. A little pulled back out of your face but still down and natural (ish- my slight waves would never naturally look that lovely). and I think down works with the simple top of the dress but will still show the necklace nicely.

Outfits look great!

I agree wholeheartedly with Mrs. Lemon-Lime. Too much around the neck will look awkward. Besides, if it isn't "you" to wear a scarf and if it makes you uncomfortable -- ditch it. Photographs should capture the real you (and your beautiful family) in a timeless way, not a forced or overly made up way. 😉
As for your hair, which sounds lovely, I'm split between the ethereal #2 and the delicately, romantic #3. My only concern with #3 is: Will it unravel further while mothering 2 little girls during a photo shoot and just look messy? I would do a practice/hair trial beforehand just to see.

Your dress is great as-is with the necklace. My pick is hairstyle #2, but #3 is nice too to show off the dress more. Very cute dress you picked for your girls.

I tried to take a lot of the advice from the other thread—the major change being that the two girls’ dresses are very textured (more so in person) to add interest. My DH was set on matching outfits for our two girls, so that aspect stayed. But their hair accessories will be different, and the older one might get a scarf. Their leggings will be gray and their hair accessories will be gold. I thought about getting a cardigan or scarf for myself, but I honestly don’t like things around my neck, and I feel (hope?) the floor length dress can stand on its own.

Hopefully you guys aren’t sick of these posts yet. :silly:

I have waist length hair that has a little natural wave to it. It’s on the thick side. I am about 30% gray with dark brown hair otherwise (I don’t mind that I’m going gray). Which of these do you like best?

1 and 2 are the same except 1 has a little hair pulled back. I like how relaxed they feel and that they show off my length. 3 is a little more interesting and romantic (I won’t have flowers in my hair FYI). 4 strikes me as feminine but well put together—it would emphasize my grays, since they’re more prominent underneath my top layer of hair and at my temples.

I’m including what we’re wearing in the comment below in case it matters.
