I would just try the BG inserts first. Maybe see if he leaks if you just use one and add another if needed.

I love and exclusively use the thirsties hemp inserts. They come in small and large size. They absorb quickly and they don't have compression leaks like microfiber. They last forever too!

So this might be a stupid question but I don't really know the answer so I'm going to ask it anyways. What inserts should I use in my 4.0's? DS is 6 weeks old and weighs about 11 pounds right now. I'm not sure if I should be using the larger insert snapped down or the newborn insert with my pocket diapers. Is it just a trial and error type of thing?

Also, I got some bamboo inserts at the suggestion of a cloth diapering store near my parents' house, but now that I have them I'm not really sure how to use them. Can they be used on their own? Or do I have use to the microfiber inserts in combination with the bamboo? And what about hemp inserts? I think I've read those should be paired with microfiber (microfiber on top?) because they don't absorb quickly?
