We use fleece halo for winter. We tried deedee but it bunches up by her face, which makes me nervous. Not sure why it does this since she's within the size range, but we went back to halo.

For swaddling A&A blankets and then the A&A sleep sacks. We live in PA so it does get cold, but DS (and now this baby seems to be the same) got hot quickly that anything thicker made him miserable.

We had some of the fleece halo sacks but he sweated in them. We also tried the summer infant SwaddleMe's but he could break out of them instantly and the A&A blankets worked so much better.

We have both. Our LO used cotton Summer Infant SwaddleMes once she was a few weeks old - before then, she was too little and the fabric bunched up. Once it got cold, we switched her into the fleece Halo swaddle-sacks. We really like both - the fleece is WARM though, especially if your baby is wearing fleece jammies, too. But we're in Canada...

DS was due in April and we used cotton swaddles(both halo and summer infant). We got a fleece one in a larger size for winter, but by then he hated sleep sacks!

When DD was tiny, we just swaddled in a blanket (A+A) and would wrap a second blanket around her if it was really cold. At about 10 weeks, we transitioned to a Halo sleep sack (cotton) that had swaddle "wings" - loved it because it allowed us to transition DD out of the swaddle. Now we use a Baby DeeDee sleep sack, which is my favorite so far because it's really warm and cuddly.

If you are in doubt re: weather, I would do cotton. It's easy to dress your baby warmly under a cotton sleep sack if it's cold, and cotton gives you more longevity in shoulder seasons.

I had a bamboo fiber swaddle that I used when my son was a newborn all the way until he was ready to be swaddle weaned. It was perfect because it was breathable and I used it right on top of the fleece or terry sleepers.

It was Kiddopotomus brand, which was bought by Summer Infant.

For swaddling as newborns, we used A&A blankets. Once they started busting out of those but still needed to be swaddled, we switched to the Zipadeezip sacks. After they started trying to stand in their cribs and move around a lot, we moved to A&A sleep sacks and that's what they still use now at 1 year.

For the first couple weeks we swaddled with an A&A blanket. Then we switched to the Swaddleme Velcro swaddlers which were great. I had to go to size large at three months. Last night we tried a Halo sleepsack for the first time at 4.5 months.I think it was a big transition for her because she was up 4 times. I like the Halo and think she'll be nice and toasty in a fleece one.

I used miracle blanket for swaddling and then baby deedee. I liked the A&A, but the zipper broke on both of mine, so I wouldn't recommend! I think fleece is too staticky, so I would recommend cotton/quilted cotton.

For swaddling we used the Miracle Blanket then Woombie. She could break out of everything else. Once we stopped swaddling we used cotton Halo sleep sacks or the fleece bunting sacks from Carter's (only come in fleece and up to 9 months)

We started as an newborn with the A+A muslin wraps as a swaddle and they worked great. Not too hot in Aug in FL.

When she started daycare she still was swaddled but they wouldn't use a blanket so we tried the swaddle sacks. The Halo ones were nice and the other ones were crap (the pocket at the bottom let her kick it off).

After that in the winter we moved to something like the GroBags which was a great transition from the swaddle. Kinda like the weight of the Magic Sleep Suit, the weight of it helped her sleep and she slept great in the crib.

Later in the spring when it warmed up we tried using lighter weight sleep sacks and she just never cared for them so we stopped using them.

we co bed but my LO spends the first part of the night in her crib. We started doing this at 6 months, so I'm not sure about younger babies/ swaddling (which we never did).
But we found that the Halo sacks weren't warm enough, even with fleece PJS (we are in Vermont, so near you! We live in an old building, so the bedroom can get chilly when the door is closed). We got a baby deedee sack and that keeps her warm.
I imagine when its a bit warmer out we may go back to the fleece one.

If I'd planned ahead I would have gotten a wool one. They are expensive but last forever (and fit for like 3 years) and are good in almost all weather. But at that point I"d spent so much on "stuff to help her sleep" that I just couldn't justify the price tag. But I would seriously look into wool sleep sacks. They seem awesome.

We have both, but so far she doesn't fit well into the summer infant (it rides up into her face because she's tiny) and she's not so into swaddling so we've been just using a&a swaddle blankets over fleece onesies instead of fleece swaddles. We will probably try the halo sacks in a few weeks when she's a little bigger. We bought nb size but she's tiny so unstructured blankets are just easier right now.

I forgot to mention - I'd do cotton. LO sleeps in a thin gown, socks & cotton sleepsack swaddle & is plenty warm, though we keep the heat up. But for SIDS they say better a little too cold than too hot. If you think they need to be warmer, do a fleece sleeper under the sleepsack.
