@littlebit: I skied a lot with a newborn last year. I would feed her and pump right before I left in the a.m. I'd leave a bottle and then be fine til 1ish. I never went back out after that, but I'm sure if you nursed or pumped then, you'd be fine til the mtn closed.

@pawprints: a lot of the bigger resorts have childcare (vail, beavercreek, park city, etc).

If you think you need a stroller at all, I'd do the Indie. I have gate-checked our Indie Twin, and it wasn't a big deal. But I think you could probably get away with just baby-wearing too.

@Littlebit7: That is awesome. I'd love to hear how it goes (if it's a hassle to get down to the base 2-3x/day to nurse, and then get all your gear back on and back up the mountain). Wonder if it's too late for us to book a trip this winter...

If you don't plan on walking much, I would forego the stroller and just take a baby carrier.

@PawPrints: Jackson Hole! My requirements were a daycare and a direct flight :) You reserve the daycare ahead of time. We're going to give it a shot; we didn't want to give up skiing until it gets to difficult to travel. There is also a local babysitting service there that would send a vetted sitter to your condo or hotel for about what we are paying for the daycare. I am pumping and nursing but I'm down to 2-3 times per day. The daycare is at the base, so I think I'm going to try to nurse her at lunch.
Good idea to bring a bigger blanket for the airport floor

Definitely the Bumbleride. Baggage-checking your stroller and babywearing is super easy. We've done it on two trips, one was direct and the other had a layover both coming and going, and both times we found it completely easy to just wear her. We spread a blanket on the floor for her to roll around and play when we were hanging out in the airports.

More important question: Tell me about this ski town that has a daycare you can access??? DH and I have sadly given up skiing for our second season in a row now (I was pregnant last year) and we are missing it hard. I figured it would be impossible with LO still nursing. (If you don't mind me asking, are you pumping at all? Or is that not a complicating factor?)

I think it depends on what you want the stroller for. If you want it for just getting around the airport, bring the G-luxe. If you want something you can use on your trip, bring the bumbleride and check it. Personally, I'd get it all bagged up and check it curbside. I'd wear baby in the airport regardless.

I would take the Indie and gate check it. Worth the hassle to me.

We are headed skiing out west next week with our LO who is 9 months. I am trying to decide which stroller to take with us. We won't be staying slope side; we are in a village about 5 min from the base. So we will have to drive to drop LO at daycare and drive to the main town (however we plan on skiing every day we are there). There are a few restaurants and shops in our village, probably a 5-10 min walk.
So we have our UB gluxe or the bumbleride indie.
Pros for UB:
-can gate check it, lighter, easier to manage, better for general travel
Cons for UB:
-can't take it in the snow. Can't load it up with crap.

Pros for bumbleride:
-can go for walks outside in any condition including a lot of snow. 7 am enfant bundle fits well. (its going to be COLD there).
-We can load up the bumbleride when we drop her at daycare with all of her crap
Cons for bumberide:
-can't gate check easily (barely doable, but we normally drop it with our checked bags since its so bulky and the wheels have to come off. also the travel bag is BIG). We are then left in the airport with the only option to wear her in the beco. it is a direct flight.
I'm not sure how much walking we'll be doing if we are skiing most of the time. However if the weather is terrible and not skiable, maybe we'll need the stroller? Ugh
Renting a Bob there is possible but I don't want to spend the $$$
