@MamaBehr: germy hands away from baby...I think you sold me.

@Mrs. J: am I that stupid?! Why didn't I think of the free ride vent? Duuuurrr

@hilsy85: ok that makes so much more sense. You'd think the lighter one would go tot he bottom for so many reasons. This further sells me on the b-ready

@babyjmama: ....ok but,I didn't buy anything in KC. Do you remember? Everyone shopped but me. I need a double stroller. I earned it ;) yes? yes? *ashamed*

@littlek: Lol, these ladies changed my mind too!

UPDATE:
The B-ready I wanted on CL is not going to happen. The seller is saying that she would like to sell her "set" as a set. Meaning, I would have to buy her infant carseat and base (an extra $120) in order to get the stroller for $300. Um, no, thanks, I'll pass on a used seat that I don't need.

So, it looks like I will be buying the b-ready during the free ride event. Or if I can find it used again on CL, i'll do that.
I figure, I will keep my receipt and if it isn't great, I can always return it and end up with something entirely different. But so far, I was very sold on b-ready.

I vote B-ready for sure!!!! We have one and I lurve it. We're just looking into buying the second seat stuff for LO#2. I think it's just an awesome set up for two, and love that it's still the same size when if folds up.

@TurtleDoves: the bottom seat is actually made for the younger baby (on the b ready and the UB vista)--they push MUCH better/easier with the smaller baby in the lower seat and the older baby in the top one. I personally think there's plenty of distance between the lower seat and the ground--I like the b ready, especially because you can use it as a single when you don't need both seats.

@TurtleDoves: I'm a cheapskate. BUT. If I had planned on having more than one kid, I would have gotten the B-Ready. I luuuurrrrve it!!!! I despise side-by-side strollers. They get in the way of everyone and you can't fit them through some aisles at stores.

Then again, all of this is totally personal preference because some people swear by their side by sides!!

@TurtleDoves: I have a city select because I liked all the options, we did not get the Uppa BAby because the bottom seat looked uncomfortable and it was made for an older child and we were planning on having LOs close in age. Of the options you suggested, I like the side by side the best.

We bought the B- Ready during the free ride event, and got our b-safe for free then (all in red!). We did it on Amazon, so it was only 375 instead of 499, so if you can wait, you could wait for the next event and get the 2nd seat for free.

I do have almost all of the options with the B-Ready, and I love LOVE the fact that the baby can go on the bottom. It does keep an awful lot of germy hands out of the new baby's face!

And, as a single it is awesome! Great storage, easy to push, and so many options for configuration. I think my biggest disappointment might be in that no stroller would really fit my 3.5 year old.

We've got the B-Ready and love it!! It sells under a different name in Australia (we're Britax's test market so they sell their products under the name Steelcraft) but it's the same pram. We haven't bought the second seat yet but we have tried it out with the second seat a number of times and think it will be just fine for our toddler LO and baby #2. I love that both seats are fully recline ready, as opposed to a rumble seat that doesn't recline, and the toddler/baby can go in either seat without issue.

As for price....well, I will just say that I paid $680 for ours, NOT including the second seat, so to me, $300 sounds great! :-)

we have the combi double sport and it is perfect for our city life with limited space. i thought pre 2 kids i wanted an inline double, but i vastly prefer the side by side. the kids love sitting next to each other!

i would wait to buy one because age gap may affect the type of double you want!

I've had a UBV with rumble seat which is a lot like the B-Ready. It was great except difficult to turn with heavier kid on the bottom. I wouldn't put an infant down there.... Anyway, we sold it and now have a side-by-side Mountain Buggy Duet. It's the most narrow side-by-side and although my kids have a weight difference of almost 15-20 lbs, it's easier to steer than a tandem.

I personally would wait til #2 was almost born and/or even til he/she has arrived and test doubles out. The market for doubles has been changing so fast. Manufacturers are improving their strollers and coming out with new models and features all the time!

@autumnlove: same with me; I thought it was def CS until I saw that poor lady pushing it in the mall and it was like a mini bus!

I think I am going to check out the b-ready and hope the CL person even emails me back (so flaky!)
if it doesn't work out, I am going to order both the Hauck and the Britax b agile and test drive them both with LO #1 in it inside my house. We will see from there...SO many options:/

@TurtleDoves: Not yet! The GT double drives pretty smooth with one or both LOs seated in it. LO is 24 lbs and baby is around 15-16!

I had my heart set on the City Select until I test drove it with both kids strapped in...too long and awkward to steer for me.

@TurtleDoves: I've been meaning to start a poll. You should ask moms of 2 or more if they think a double is even necessary. Seems like a lot to spend for something you might use once a week?
Do you have local fb resale groups?

I have the combi sport double (a side by side), and we love it. It fits through most standard doorways, is lightweight, and my children love sitting next to each other! Rather, my toddler loves her younger bro... And he just doesn't know any better. It also folds up standing so doesn't take much space when stored.

We also don't use the stroller that much since we live in the CA suburbs so we mostly use the stroller to walk to our local park or at malls. Since you won't be using your stroller all that much I'd go with the more affordable option that meets everything you're looking for. Of your 3 choices, I voted for the CL one. But seriously consider the combi too! It's really easy to maneuver. I've had no problems with the uneven weight. My daughter already claimed "her side" too lol.

@locavore_mama: all great questions. I just don't know. That is why I am totally confused.
fro the looks of it, the baby on bottom can still see alright, not great but good enough, I think...

[attach=2389/13/mri1ry.298x267.br7.jpg]

I am kind of thinking, if we are going to walk through snow or puddles, I might wear my LO and put the toddler in the stroller as a single (that is why I don't think I will use my double a whole lot and hence my $300 budget)

eta: dangit :( the used one comes with a 2nd seat, though...

@Mrsjets: As far as the toddler being tucked away and not tolerating that, I agree! However, I was thinking maybe the *younger* baby could go to the back. The car seat even clicks into the bottom/back of the stroller. Look at all these configurations (@mslipgloss: mentioned)

I didn't vote because I'm not a fan of the b-ready when used as a double. I know my DS wouldn't sit all tucked away like that. I'm torn between the Contours Options and the Combi Sport Twin (which are crazy different!). I can't find either in my city to try out though :( I do like that the Contour Options fits so many car seats and come with all I'd need...but I still have a few more months to mull it over.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008H3T65W/ref=aw_d_img_back_baby-products

http://www.amazon.com/Combi-Sport-Stroller-Sunset-Scribble/dp/B005SRC6FW/ref=pd_cp_ba_0

I have a friend with twins and the city select jogger and I don't think it was too big when opened. I do think its ridiculous that it has to be all disassembled to fold though...which makes it big.

@MamaBehr: OK, so the City Select: I saw a lady with one like 2 days ago and OMG am I glad I saw it IRL. It was MONSTER. A frikkin mammoth. I was, like you, thinking about that one, but after seeing it in action, I was like, I'd rather not...

@locavore_mama: I do love @@autumnlove: and it is extremely comparable to the Britax B agile double. Like you, I do like the look of the b-ready.

@Rubies: finally, someone who owns a hauck! I would pull the trigger on the CL stroller if I knew I was pregnant and/or if there were returns allowed.
Why do you prefer side by side?

B-Ready! There are tons of configurations (more than the UBV), the second seat has the same weight capacity of the first seat (not just a rumble seat), and it is easier to maneuver (especially when loaded down as a double) than the BJCS.

This might not help you but.... I have the Britax B-ready and I like the idea of one on top and one on bottom, however my DD is 3 and DS is 18 months old and the bottom seat is so hard to get into! I wasn't expecting this, but it is hard to get either in or out of. I wish I had bought a City Jogger Select, because it does the top/bottom option, but the lower seat is in the front, instead of back!
I also have a double BOB and I'm glad we didn't get a side by side stroller, it is hard to navigate through tight places then (a friend has a the city mini double that is side by side and she has a hard time fitting places from time to time)

I didn't vote, because I'm not sure how to vote!

I love the side by side one that @autumnlove: has in black. Se-xay.

The bottom red one is super cool looking too. I saw it on babble and fell in love.

But I can't stomach spending that much on a stroller even a double. Nor do I have the money so I did not even bother reading up on any of it.

IF I were to get a double I lean towards one where the older LO can sit or stand.
What about ease of use?? My first thought is how the heck am I going to set this monster up, by myself, in a parking lot with a running toddler and infant. And soon TWO running toddlers??

My umbrella stroller is from Hauck and it's proven to be reliable and good. However, as I am researching double strollers, the weight is an important factor and if it's too heavy, I won't consider it.

I also prefer side-by-side.

If I were you, based on the info you've presented, I'd go with the used Britax on CL - just because you said you wouldn't be using it much and that it IS essentially what you want.
