@.twist.: That was my experience but I only charted 3 months before I got my BFP.

@Smurfette: so, if your temp drops below the cross hair line (cover?) then there is a good chance you're not pregnant?

I did cause as soon as they dropped I knew AF was on her way. When it dropped but not below the cover, the day my period was due, I took it as a sign to test and it was positive.

@BKCaribBaby: Yup, I test even b/f AF is due, because most people will get a BFP by 14dpo, it seems, and AF still wouldn't be due for another 2-3 days. And I'm impatient. :)

@Foodnerd81: Yes, you're totally right! I should have mentioned that. My LP is/was short (it got even shorter before we started TTC), so that time frame worked for me. I also purposely waited until my period was really late before I tested. I know many test at various times throughout the TWW.

I agree with @.twist. - this month my chart did the same thing (gave me CH then took them away). If you find it's driving you crazy maybe stop, but I like to have all of that information, so the positives outweigh the negatives for me.

@BKCaribBaby: I have a long LP and it's been 18 days before-- totally thought I must be pregnant, but nope, just a freakishly long LP. But for most people, yes, it would mean you are pregnant.

I do, so far (I think today is the beginning of my 2nd TWW). But, I'm less strict about it-- like maybe I don't on the weekends if I was out late, if we go away for the weekend I don't bother. Since you have been doing it for 4 months already, you probably have a good idea of what your chart usually does, so if you skip a few days, it wouldn't make much of a difference? If TTC takes a long time, I might stop once O is confirmed, but I don't know. I like having a lot of info. So, maybe I would just skip the weekends.

Yes. I kept taking temps until about 19 DPO. For me, it was one of the first signs that I might have been pregnant. After reading TCOYF, I knew that 18 days of high temps was a pretty good indicator. After I got my BFP, I took it three more times (not on consecutive days) and then had to stop because I was making myself crazy.

I do temp during the TWW - i thought about not doing it this past cycle but I was too curious, and wanted to have a complete chart to compare future ones to.

I started my first cycle on Oct 22. I got my cross hairs yesterday and I took my temp this morning and the cross hairs disappeared. so... maybe it's good to keep temping just in case? I dunno....

Today is CD1 of our last cycle trying to prevent pregnancy. It's also my fourth cycle charting. Once you started TTC, did you continue temping after O was confirmed and you got crosshairs? I know I will be curious, but I also don't want to read too much into my temps. I also think I will be anxious, so I'll wake more often in the night, toss and turn, etc. and that could lead to artificially high temps. If I decide to stop temping after O, I will have to make DH hide my thermometer! What did you do? Did anyone do both and prefer one over the other? Thanks!
