@Mrs. Pen: It's pretty awesome stuff and I am kind of obsessed with it! The best brand out there (apparently) is Green Pastures fermented cod liver oil/butter oil blend.

I had this same exact thing on my front teeth from when they (my adult front teeth) grew in until high school. I was told by dentists that they were calcium deposits and it was just cosmetic. They faded as I got older, and when I whitened my teeth in college, they disappeared entirely.

@Mrs. Pen: Google fermented cod liver oil. There's tons of info out there about it and remineralizing teeth.

@Mrs. Pen: It's probably nothing big, but might as well talk to someone who knows teeth well. I doubt it's anything you did.

@Mrs. Jacks: I'm wondering if Cobi's erupted like this too - he's only had his teeth for about 6 months and I never really looked that closely at them.

@Mrs. Pen: like I said, my daughters teeth Erupted like that. Nothing we did caused it. I suspect I didn't get enough calcium during pregnancy. It's really not that big of a deal.

@Mrs. Jacks: @Maysprout: that just makes me feel like *I'm* doing something wrong!!! I swear I brush his teeth every night (I can't floss at this point), only feed him produce, legumes and VERY limited grains and no sugar, etc... :(

yeah I'm researching dentists now.

I haven't seen it in my LOs teeth but I think we'll probably take a visit to the dentist soon anyways.
But demineralization is another word for tooth decay so I'd get it checked out. I think at this age it's usually what type of bacteria is inhabiting your mouth, everyone has bacteria but some are less good than others.

@Mrs. Pen: There are cosmetic things, but we give a multivitamin, brush twice a day, floss once a day and things have gotten better over time. You hardly notice it any more :)

@MrsRcCar: someone asked me if he's been on antibiotics, but he's never had a need for them ever,

I have the same thing on my teeth. The dentist told me it is calcium deposits in my teeth. However my teeth are also discolored from repeated use of antibiotics as a child.

It's usually actually demineralization which is sometimes but rarely caused by fluorosis. My daughter's teeth came in like this, but have gotten better over time. We have her dentist watch closely.

I'm a little worried about this especially after reading Mrs. Scooter's post on Fluoride (http://www.hellobee.com/2013/01/25/fluoride-to-supplement-or-not-to-supplement/), but I wonder if it's even possible for get fluorosis this early - he's had his two top teeth for 6 months.
We have city water and I looked it up, it has fluoride in it. I know drs/dentists recommend fluoride water or supplements but I'm wary of it all as it is. But we don't have a water filter or distiller so whenever DS drinks water (a little every day), I'm sure he's getting fluoride.

But is it even fluoride? Could it be something else entirely?!? I have no idea!

Has this happened to anyone else? Should I take him to a children's dentist?
