Sorry I don't have anything valuable to add, but I too am paranoid about too much EMF and I feel guilty each time I use my laptop when I'm holding my baby!! :( I'm just too addicted to my computer!!

@Honeybee: Oh I see.. the thing is I was going to add the white noise machine to the CD player, because I still want to play music for her, so that would be additional EMF, I think I will just keep the CD player and use it with the White noise CD that I ordered

Everything I know about EMFs I learned from Ghost Hunters, lol. :) My understanding is that most people are not at all affected by EMFs unless they are exposed to high levels over a long-ish peiod of time (or very high levels over a shorter period of time). The typical side effects are paranoia, headaches, nausea, etc..., and end pretty much as soon as the exposure stops. Also, most of the time when people are affected the EMF levels are in the hundreds; I'm guessing this machine probably gives off very low levels (like most electronic devices); so low that you will not notice/be affected by it.

You could probably ask your doctor for more information about what is/is not safe for your baby. I'll just point out, though, that the cd player you use is probably also giving off EMFs, so switching a white noise machine out for the cd player probably won't affect the overall EMF levels in your house.

oooh scary!!!

We decided to go with an air purifier that sounds like a fan, so similar to white noise. It sells for $68 at walmart. DH picked it since it has the white noise properties we wanted but also purifies the air and improves circulation.

I was researching white noise machines for my baby specifically this one
http://www.amazon.com/Conditioner-Marpac-formerly-Sleepmate-980A/dp/B000KUHFGM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347547246&sr=8-1&keywords=white+noise+machine

And I see a few comments about EMF and how it may not be safe to use this repeatedly. I dont know much about EMF and I know cell phones, wireless home phones and wifi all emit frequencies too. But I didnt really want to add another emitting device in our room. Do any of you know much about this?

For now I ordered this CD to use as white noise, I'm guessing this will be better than ther cd I made at home http://www.amazon.com/Babys-First-White-Noise-Babies/dp/B000RV5HC8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1347547393&sr=8-3&keywords=%27Baby%27s+First+White+Noise%3A+White+Noise+CD+for+Babies%27+by
