They are well built and last forever. The one we had in our bedroom before the baby has ran non-stop for almost 3 years. He also adjusted the sound to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." We have been using it since 3 months (when she went into her own room) and it has been wonderful. I sat in there one day and could hear everything going on downstairs without it on. It's great that it has a projector and plays music too, which LO loves! It has a timer function, but you can turn it off. Sounds are rain, ocean, and heartbeat, and 3 songs.
