It's not a digital track, so it doesn't loop. I found my kids would sometimes wake up a minute or two after the looping gap. The tone is really adjustable, more than just loud/soft, so I can change it based on what's happening in the house - I keep it on the higher speed while we're up, and low while we're asleep too. It has been a lifesaver for us. We used the Cloud B Gentle Giraffe before and hated that it cut off after 45 minutes. I wasn't a fan of a battery operated sound machine either. It was only $20 I think? I love it because the volume goes up really high and my LO needed loud, loud noise for the first couple months.
