We also use a humidifier. It definitely helps drown out our noise and helps her sleep better.<br /> We took the Sleep Sheep on vacation with us abroad (to use batteries instead of an outlet converter) and I was sensitive and awake to keep pressing the button every cycle. If it ever shorts out or if I accidentally set the timer and it goes off, DD wakes up. That seems to be the biggest negative in the reviews of the sleep sheep. I am not sure whether the white noise held DD sleep better, per se, but it allows us to *live* while she's asleep, rather than tip toeing around our house. </p>
