We have just gotten used to the white noise while we sleep. And by gotten used to, I mean we're both totally hooked on it to sleep. If my husband goes downstairs to put her back to sleep, I turn off the monitor and turn on the white noise on my phone. I'm addicted.

My sister used her video monitor to watch for movement and kept the volume down. So you could see the line would go up if he was making extra noise, but it was never actually quiet with the white noise in the background.

@pregnantbee: ;) Yeah our stupid video monitor activated whenever she moved. She moves ALL THE TIME so that got old very quickly. We find that sound is enough, at least for now.

You could turn down the volume on the monitor?

ETA: oops. Didn't realize it's not a video monitor. We usually turn down the volume and watch for movement instead.

If I have the white noise loud enough that my baby will sleep, it screws with the baby monitor. So for example, if she's napping and we're watching a movie, we sit there hearing loud-ass noise through the monitor the whole time. Same at night. I've basically gotten used to hearing the very loud white noise through the monitor all the time but it'd be nice if there was a solution!

We just have the older version of this monitor. Got it from a friend.
