If we were in big trouble we would be sat down with both parents. I really dislike this idea of "wait until your father hears about this". It makes it seem like mom can't disciple her own children and it turns dad into a threat/scary person. My mom was a SAHM and my dad worked long hours, so my mom did a lot more of the day to day disciplining. My sister and I were really well-behaved kids but sometimes we did get in trouble. We were so much more scared of my dad. For instance when my mom would wake us up for school, we'd just continue sleeping. But when we heard my dad's footsteps approaching, we'd leap out of bed and pretend like we'd been getting ready all along haha.</p> <p>Who did most of the parenting or disciplining in your household? </p>
