He won't do it on his own, but once I get him to find some time to do it, he does it all. I don't even know how to work our new vacuum.</p> <p>He takes care of the dogs, all walking and feeding. We used to share this equally but he took over fully when I was pregnant and at 4 months PP I still have yet to scoop a box :)<br /> Dog Chores - we both let the dog out when she needs to go and do feedings equally. We used to share the nail trim and bath duties but now we take her to the vet for nail trims and DH does bath time alone since I usually need to be with the baby.<br /> Yard - DH does the mowing/raking/leaf bagging. I do all the counters, sink, stovetop, oven, microwave, etc.</p> <p>I also do all the household shopping and our bill paying/money management.<br /> I'm not sure if it reads as equal, but it really feels very evenly distributed to us. DH usually unloads the dishwasher and we split the night dishes.</p> <p>Cooking - I make breakfast and lunch; we split dinner.</p> <p>Shopping - DD and DH do all our shopping, except for the occasional stuff I have to pick up from the store during the week.</p> <p>"Daily"chores (sweepings, cleaning countertops, cleaning stove/microwave, picking up around the house) - I do it during the day; we split it at night.</p> <p>"Deep cleaning" (dusting, bathrooms, changing bedding, windows, etc...) -We split doing this stuff on the weekends.</p> <p>DH gets up an hour early to do chores, and I do stuff throughout the day, since I'm home with the kids. At night, whoever gets done with bedtime first starts on the rest of the chores, and then the other person helps finish when both kids are asleep. In 2 weeks though, it will be all on me, but I actually like doing laundry so that's ok. I do toilets, wiping down counters, cleaning the bathroom and all the floors, vacuuming, and overall organizing.</p> <p>DH will help with the dishes and general pick up now and then. We both do the grocery shopping. As far as cooking, DH is better at doing meats and I do the sides. Cooking and dishes have overwhelmed us.</p> <p>Cleaning the stove: I started doing this a few months ago, and now I've become increasingly obsessive about it. How did I not notice how dirty it got before?</p> <p>Scrubbing the microwave: I use the whole "microwave some vinegar and water and then wipe it down" trick. It's so cool it makes me want to clean the microwave more often.</p> <p>Wiping down the kitchen counter: I do this 4-5x a week; not sure why.</p> <p>Scrubbing the toilet: This isn't something I ever notice. After years of never doing it, I'm finally starting to clean it a few times a week.</p> <p>I just asked Mrs. Bee, and she said she spends an hour a day on chores. That's around what I spend on the dishes and kitchen cleaning... I still feel in my gut though that she does more chores than I do. Maybe that's because she does all of the shopping and most of the cooking! (More on that one in a separate post though.)</p> <p>Who does what chores in your relationship? What would you say the split is between the two of you? </p>
