We are happy. Although, I was banned from the play area at the shelter so that the younger dog would get to know my DH before me. Our older dog was/is attached to me and I looked past her when we were at the shelter to adopt a dog. I don't know why she didn't grab my attention. He's the alpha and they loooove getting attention and scratches and praise from him. I'm here almost all the time so I'm less of a novelty. Technically our 10 year old dog is his and our 5 year old is mine. I'm hoping the younger pup Lucky will bond a lot with baby. Mostly because she takes him outside every time he glances at the back door and gives him a million treats. After her, he seems more protective of me (we spend all day every day together now!) but my husband does most of his basic care, so it's a tie. He is getting more curious of the babies, as they move now. He's mostly ambivalent toward them. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. For a Maltese she is so not a lap dog. But she does follow me everywhere and always greets me with love when I come home. If I'm not home she'll attach herself to whoever but will hang out by the front door waiting for me to come home. At least that's what I've been told. She doesn't particularly like the kids but is SO good about tolerating all of their abuse. But she loves Mr. Bee too, and wouldn't probably love him equally if I weren't the one that usually fed her.</p> <p>She doesn't mind Olive, but she is scared of Charlie.
