I do most of the daily parenting so LO is more used to listening to me and know when I mean business. I am glad you brought this up though because DH has been off this week and getting frustrated with her. I am trying to find a balance between letting them figure it out on their own and helping them not both be miserable!

Xander doesn't really listen, but he's more likely to stop doing something if Hubs says no or tells him to stop. I guess he sounds firmer than me?

I'm better at dealing with tantrums though! He calms down and gets over things quicker with me.

I'm better at tantrum control. I think my brain just operates 5 steps ahead so I know exactly what/how to say things to get DD to listen. I read her better than DH does.

DD does this too. She usually has a melt down when its time to put the ipad away and sleep. DH will say time to go to sleep and she will look to me and I will say Daddy said its time to go to sleep so we have to put the ipad away.

Just reenforce what dad says and making sure you say dad said. DH does the same thing when she looks to DH, he will say Mom said ...

LO is pretty well-behaved in general and will listen...but recently we realized it's when i'm the one doling out the discipline or instructions. I would say i'm better at tantrum control...or maybe we're just lucky!

If i say "no more tv/ipad" she'll get upset but get over it. If DH says "no more" then she throws a tantrum and keeps yelling for me to let her...like i'm going to override DH's answer.

If LO is crying and throwing a tantrum, it takes DH a lot longer to calm her down, listen to him, or apologize. Last night he threw me this pained look, "Can't you tell her to listen to me??" but i explained that he needs to start getting her to listen to him without me swooping in, and she can't assume that i'm the one who has the final say.

Does anyone else experience this?
