So glad you're enjoying your new puppy!

DH got our pup long before I even met him, but he was definitely my baby before LO came. I have a facebook friend who is obviously using her dog to help with her baby fever. She just got a new puppy and posts more pictures of her then I do of my LO! We get to see everything that goes on in the dog's life. I love seeing those pictures :)

My husband and I took out our baby fever over the long term by adopting pets. Then we had a baby, and realized that 3 cats and 2 (big) dogs AND a baby is kind of a hand full. I wish I could go back and tell my former self that.

Well we got out dog 2 years ago and I was pregnant at the time but then miscarried. I think having her really helped take my mind off it. I signed her up for training classes at petsmart and I did that with her for almost 6 months going once a week. I have to say now that we have our LO, I'm so glad we were able to spend that time with our dog and really train her before we had a baby. Now it's so fun to see the baby just go crazy over our dog and she is so gentle with the baby.

We got a puppy almost exactly a year ago, and it was so fun! I would actually say preparing to get a puppy was more fun for us than this pregnancy has been! When you're pregnant, you have to deal with the physical stuff, plus all the worry and stress that comes with planning for a real life child. Getting a puppy was just pure fun and I was definitely fixated on him and nothing else for quite a while... heck, I still am often :) Of course, once he arrives, it is a lot of work, but that will probably help your baby fever too because it takes up a lot of your time and energy. Enjoy it!

I'm glad it's helping! Our pup helped with mine for a bit, especially since she didn't sleep through the night for about 6 months. I thought there is no way I'm doing this with pup and a baby!

My DH and I have adopted an adorable little Biewer Yorkie and we get to bring him home on Friday at 11.5 weeks old! We are SO excited! We went shopping on the weekend and bought all the adorable pet supplies. We went home and opened all the packages and set up his crate with blankets inside and discussed the perfect position for it so he won't be too hot or too cold. I've pinned 3490583495 dog related things the past week and watched a ton of puppy training videos on YouTube.

While it doesn't fill the void completely, getting this new puppy has really eased my baby fever significantly. Not only does it simply get my mind off it, but I am so much looking forward to having the little guy to care for and train. I'm not nearly as frustrated by my long cycles and lack of O as I was 2 weeks ago.

Who else found that a pet helped ease baby fever?
