We don't do any Easter stuff (as parents), but my husband's parents do a brunch, an egg hunt at their house, and give them Easter baskets.

Over here they don't do Easter baskets, it's all Easter Eggs - a large chocolate egg with sweets inside the box too. DD will get one from each grandparent (three sets) and each set of aunts and uncles (nine). We bought Easter eggs for all our nieces and nephews too (15). That is a ridiculous amount of chocolate! We have done the kids Easter baskets though because I love the idea. Hopefully no one will buy the baby chocolate.

We usually see DH's extended family on Easter, so usually DS has some small gifts from a couple of them. FIL usually gets him something, and then one or two of DH's get cousins might also. Stuff like a stuffed animal or a book or something. My parents don't bother sending anything and that's totally fine, I don't really see this as a gift giving holiday. We do put non-food items in his basket as "gifts" but that's so it doesn't have to be all candy and food.

Oh, and I wouldn't be thrilled if other people were giving him full baskets of stuff, especially full of candy. We do a moderate amount of junk food in our house, but he doesn't need 2 or 3 Easter baskets. Plus, baskets come from the bunny, not grandparents :silly: .

Just my in-laws! My parents are Jewish, so they don't give anything.

DH and I don't usually give any Easter gifts.

My SO's parents give her so much stuff that there's no need for us to also make another basket, spend extra money, etc. etc. Maybe once she gets older and notices who she is getting gifts from, we'll get her something as well just so she doesn't feel like we don't care.

I guess it depends on what you count as a gift. My in-laws give our son a bag of M&Ms and a fruit snack for Easter. I don't know if I would put that at the same level as someone who gives clothes, toys and candy.

My grandmother always got us easter baskets growing up. I bought a book and sidewalk chalk for LO because both sets of grandparents are giving him baskets, which is crazy. He's the only baby in the family right now, so everyone wants to spoil him

ETA : My parents focus on the candy and DH'S parents focus on art supplies, so it works out nicely.

My parents and in-laws never miss a chance to give presents to my LOs! We will be at the in-laws' house for Easter morning, so I know MIL will have baskets for the kids and the dog. My mom said she sent a small package. She likes to send stickers and art supplies for holidays usually, and candy for DH and I.

My parents usually do something small like a stuffed animal or a small toy and a candy egg and my sister puts a few small things in her Easter basket that we give her.

I give all my nieces and nephews an Easter basket in lieu of birthday presents because it makes my life easier to do it all at once than throughout the year. It's usually a collection of small items and a few eggs with candy.

@AB810: it feels like a lot to me too!

I have a 4 yo and 8 month old. My parents sent each kid a basket with chocolate bunny, various chocolate candy and some cheddar goldfish crackers. Not sure what they expect the baby to do with this!

My MIL sent a huge frozen theme basket for my 4 yo with tons of jelly beans plus stickers and an Olaf stuffed animal. She at least sent the baby some sippy cups.

These are sweet and well intentioned but it feels over the top! It also feels like I should just skip our baskets this year. I think I am a little frustrated because we talked about keeping it simple this year.

My DDs usually get a box from my parents (spring/Easter themed books, stickers, a small toy or two), a present from my in-laws (a dress or a stuffed animal), and a book/stickers/craft supplies from each of my sisters and my sister in law. Not big "gifts", but sweet little "I'm thinking of you" items.

Our families tend to do this sort of thing for most holidays. Our cleaning lady also usually brings them candy for holidays.
