I love it when DH randomly says something about not being able to wait to have a LO. He text me from his work the other day and said how come everyone is just randomly pregnant in my department. We've been trying for #1, its just not working out so well. It took my husband a loooong time (and many tears on my part) for him to get there. If I were you, I'd blatantly say to friends with kids "look, I know you say it's hard/stressful/etc., but you need to be more vocal about how your kids have rocked your world in the best possible way." We've spent a lot of time with friends who have small children (which is almost all of our friends now) and they all like to complain and joke around about how nice it must be to sleep, go out, etc. I also wonder if he's nervous about the idea of fertility treatments because I am seeing a doctor next week to talk about it. I think he'll come around- I hope so! I'm trying not to worry too much about it. After 2 months ttc we got married abroad and spent a week on holiday with friends and family, two of those being a 4 year old and a 3 month old. This put DH off having babies for about 3 months. Haha. I think it was because the rest of the group got to go out in the evenings and their parents complained about being stuck staying in. It's taking longer than expected and now I think he's sort of getting cold feet. I partially blame his friends with kids for saying that he should wait as long as possible because your life is pretty much over. Ugh. Has this happened to anyone else? I'd like him to be more enthusiastic but I don't want to push too hard and try to talk him into it. Pretty sure I got baby fever before I got my first period. :) I've just always wanted kids and been impatient for the time when I could finally have them. But I was good and waited, and now that DH and I have been together for 9 years and married for almost 5, I'm finally getting my wish! He would be okay if we never had any. He wants kids, but he also likes the idea of being a lot better off financially and being able to travel a lot and retire early and such. Honestly, I don't think baby fever hit him until we found out the sex of the babies when I was 16 weeks pregnant! We went through IVF so I know he was on board with having kids and everything, but it wasn't really "baby fever" until much more recently. </p>
