Obviously I am no expert at this point but can say I really love it so far. I am just using the kit lens for now and even so it is miles above my old canon point and shoot. I got the camera and lens at Best Buy this week for $599 +tax. I think I paid about 800 for it? I have the 50mm/ f1.8 lens in addition to the kit. My husband shoots mostly in auto, and it takes lovely photos. I'm a beginner, but shoot mostly in manual. Love it. :) </p> <p>DH bought it for me a year ago for Mothers Day. The auto and semi-auo modes are easy to use for a beginner. I love the swivel display, which is handy for taking video and selfies. Its a good quality camera, takes nice pictures, not too terribly expensive. I think DH spent about $800 for a bundle that included a basic bag and a 32g SD card.</p> <p>I own the kit lens and a 50mm f/1.8 lens. The kit lens is perfectly adequate while youre learning and is a definite step up from a P&amp;S. The better the lens' you purchase after that, the better the photo quality. I love, love, love my 50mm lens. It takes beautiful, clear photos. I want a 35mm next.</p> <p>I shoot mostly semi-auto and full manual now, depending on how lazy I feel. Overall, im happy with it.
