We have a fantastic village, which I am SO THANKFUL for!
My parents and MIL live 30 minutes from us, and my brother and his gf live about the same distance too. LO’s daycare caregivers are amazing – they are so loving and supportive of her and I consider them our village as well. We also have some great friends who are close who love and support LO and are always available to babysit if needed.

Lots of friends. My best friend had her daughter a few years before me, so it's really great to get to do this together. My family is far away and DH's family is a four hour drive.

Honestly? Now that we moved 3hrs away from my parents, it is only really DH & I and occasionally my Sister. My ILS are just too busy/caught up in their own lives to be dependable.

.... my mom? lol I don't know. She's the only one that ever helps us with LO. I have a brother who lives close but LO is afraid of him (but he would like... bring me food. in theory. if I asked. which I haven't). And we have friends close but they have their own kids to worry about! :)

I love my village!!!

We don't have family nearby so it mainly consists of friends. Some are colleagues, many are neighbors, some are friends from our political or social extracurriculars... We know a large cohort of SAHDs. As a result we tend to affiliate with a lot of gay dads. We also have a fairly large cohort of friends who share adoption as our common bond.

In this one realm, we are very, very blessed!

My BIL/SIL in theory, but they've never been happy to help. I have two sitters I can call in a pinch. I am sure I could ask some friends, but we haven't had to yet.

Um, nobody really :/. Our families live a few hours away. I don't really have many "mom friends." I have several close girlfriends but they aren't married or have kids. So in terms of people who are local/can help with J, it's pretty slim.

Ours involves all sorts of people. Family for sure, though our parents are both dealing with health issues, and live a few hours away, they come any time they can. Our neighbours are ah-mazing. They have picked up my kids from school when I can't get there, they have fed us, looked after our kids, our house, taken out our garbage, helped when I was in the hospital for a couple of nights last fall, all sorts of things. I'm not sure I could do this without one in particular...she is my rock!

Our village is mostly family (both of our parents, and our siblings/their spouses) with a few friends as well.
We're not religious and aren't involved in any social/cultural clubs so we don't have a very extended group.
