LO’s daycare caregivers are amazing – they are so loving and supportive of her and I consider them our village as well. Some are colleagues, many are neighbors, some are friends from our political or social extracurriculars... We know a large cohort of SAHDs. As a result we tend to affiliate with a lot of gay dads. Family for sure, though our parents are both dealing with health issues, and live a few hours away, they come any time they can. Our neighbours are ah-mazing. They have picked up my kids from school when I can't get there, they have fed us, looked after our kids, our house, taken out our garbage, helped when I was in the hospital for a couple of nights last fall, all sorts of things.
