We could have had it done in the hospital by the neonatal docs but we trusted our ped and had a cheaper co pay for in office vs in the hospital. It might be worth talking to your insurance company to consider those factors too. Our ped has been in practice for 30 years and is very experienced and we had a relationship with him from older LO.</p> <p>Also, i watched my son's city in the office and it was fascinating! He was fantastic and I loved that that is all he does. We went with the ped. In the words of my husband "the ped is a man and I feel like he'll respect the penis more" 😂 Our ped is also just more experienced with them. My OB said we could being him in in about 2 weeks after nursing was established for her to do it. I did them all the time before I moved and changed jobs. We had a clinic once a week specifically for circs. In med school my mentor (also family doc) did them for the Jewish community.
