The rental we moved into together was in a building he had always wanted to live in, but definitely wouldn't have even made my list. I liked it though and was happy. When we bought our apartment a year ago, I wouldn't even go to an open house until he went to one first because he is so ridiculously picky I didn't want to waste my time! And honestly, it was big enough, it was an okay price (not perfect but okay), and it was in a nice neighborhood that was close to things (most importantly my doctor) so we went with it. When we came back I was a mess, I was so stressed moving and sad that we didn't love NY, I let DH pick out the apartment. It's a loft-style townhouse with lots of open railings and balconies. Not great for a baby/small child. But the location is PERFECT.
