My hubby sleeps in now, and I'm always getting up early with the baby. Kind of pisses me off because I can't just call my boss and sat I'm coming in late! But I do have to hand it to him, when our lo was still waking up in the middle of the night he was always up with her. I get migraines if I don't get my sleep, so he was so helpful!

I've always gotten up more way more than the hubs. I have to wake him up if it's his turn and then I'm already awake.

I definitely do. DH can operate on a few hours of sleep no problem, and does regularly because he'll stay up to watch cartoons, play his guitar (in the garage), play video games - basically anything that he wouldn't do with me around. Once the baby gets here and I'm breastfeeding, that'll change for a while...and it'll be a seriously miserable period of time (for me at least).

My husband gets way more, but I'm a light sleeper anyways. Also he needs to get more sleep, I'd feel uncomfortable with him going to work being that he's a train engineer/conductor!

I definitely sleep far more than my husband. He takes care of the nighttime feedings... though Eli hasn't been getting up for his feeding until 5 - 6am this week. I also go to bed way earlier than he does. He stays up usually 30 min - an hour longer than I do so he can do some cleaning around the house.. in my defense.. I need my sleep!

My husband definitely sleeps more, but that's primarily due to me needing to wake up to feed/pump.

Pre baby, I think he sleeps more. We get in bed around the same time and I fall asleep right away. He'll watch TV for a while. But I get up at least 2 hours before him during the week. And on the weekends he will sleep until 10 or 11 if I let him. I am up by 8 usually. So unless he is staying up till 3 or 4 am watching TV, I say he wins. He's going to lose some of that sleep time when the baby is here though...

Husband definitely sleeps more because he needs his rest to function at work. I get some extra hours of sleep on the weekends when he has night duty.

With his job, the husband sleeps less. If we were both unemployed and had a level playing field, he would sleep WAY more.

My husband sleeps better, let's put it that way. We both go to bed at the same time, but he can fall asleep faster and deeper than I can. He can also fall back asleep faster when dealing with nightwakings.

I work from home with a super flexible schedule, and the hubs works 10 hour shifts at a chemical plant as a high voltage technician. There are warning signs everywhere with evil cloud faces with giant lightning bolts stabbing screaming stick men. No joke. Can you guess who gets night duty 99.9% of the time? Yeah, me. While it kind of sucks, I do breastfeed, and he needs to have his wits about him at work. If you ever saw that news story about the guy who got the first face transplant because he fell into a transformer, that's the stuff my husband does. I have had 4 nights off though. They were glorious.

Right now, I sleep way more. But the baby isn't here yet....I'd say once she gets here, it'll even out some. He only needs 6 or so hours a night, but I seriously need 8-10. I'm going to be a zombie those first couple of weeks.

Who gets more sleep at night: you or your SO?

I definitely sleep way more than Mrs. Bee at night. It's not even close. In my defense, I need more sleep than her. However even taking that into account, I sleep through the night whereas she has to wake up to pump and breastfeed.

I used to wake up early when Charlie was waking up around 4 or 5 am. But lately he's been sleeping in, and so I've been able to sleep a bit more. I actually wish he would wake up earlier, because I felt I was contributing more to the family when he was waking up earlier. But I know better than to complain about something so wonderful as a child sleeping in in the morning.

Who sleeps more at night: you or your partner?
