Since the DH is at home during the day, he takes care of the dog. It's about 80% him and 20% me.

I'm not sure how it will go when we have a baby.

DH already mostly takes care of the dog. He took over walking her in the morning a few weeks ago once my hip got really bad and the extra sleep really helps! It's also already hard for me to bend over so he gets her food, water, etc. I feel kinda bad, but I still cuddle with her!

DH for sure picked up a lot of slack with the dogs when LO came along. He is in charge of feeding them breakfast and letting them out in the morning before he leaves for work.

It's probably still 50/50 with us. My husband takes her out in the morning before work, then I'm responsible for walks during the day, and he takes her out for her last break before bed. I have to say, as sad as I am to be leaving the city, I am delighted that we will soon have a yard. We'll definitely still take the dog on walks, but far, far fewer.

@mrsjyw: Haha, I have a feeling we'll be the same way once we have a LO!! DH has been pushing for a second dog and I said ABSOLUTELY NOT, especially since we are TTC!

Right now we're 50/50 on dog duty. Thankfully we have a fenced in yard and we feed them 2x a day, so it's minimal.

Since I'm working remote until L&D, I'm taking the dogs to their annual exam on Monday to get that out of the way before baby.

Post-baby, I have a feeling DH will end up taking over 99% of dog duty!
