That way they get daycare during the day and have their own space for night. My ILs moved away and my BIL passed away.<br /> So now deciding whether to go overnight or a weekend trip we usually nix it because we don't want to put our dog in kennel unnecessarily.</p> <p>When we have to we put her at a kennel it's at the vet's office. It gives us piece of mind that there's always a vet there in case anything happens. If my parents aren't with us, they will watch him. My pup and mom are BFF's, and I know that where he'd prefer to be (even more than being at our house!). If my parents are away too, my in laws will take him if it's just for a weekend. It's hard with our pup because you can't leave him home alone or he'll tear up your house. We now have a dog sitter who watches him at her apartment. We've been lucky that we've never had to board him at a kennel. He loves going to the sitter - it's vacation for him too when we go away. He gets all the attention and kids free. </p>
