My friend left for anything invasive and the birth. I didn't let anyone else in there until over an hour after so we could have family bonding and I could have skin to skin. So happy with my decision. I lucked out bc the nurse is also a midwife and the intern is a doula. Having all three (husband, nurse, and intern) was wonderful bc I was a mess! My husband was my emotional support, coach, and photographer after the baby was born! But my mom stated that although she respected my wishes, she wanted to be there. So I said ok. On the day of, my sister and dad were in the room while I was laboring. When it came time to push my dad excused himself and my sister said she'd leave if I wanted. By that time I didn't care and told her she was welcome to stay if she wanted to, so she did. Although I think she saw a lot more than she had bargained for!
