Honestly when it came time to push I did not care who was or was not in the room as long as DH was there! My mom wasn't supposed to be there because I'm not super comfortable sharing really personal moments with her - we just called her when we were at the hospital so she knew we were there. I was really surprised when she showed up in the delivery room! My mom is a retired nurse who worked L&amp;D when I was little. She was a big help. My sister manned the cameras. DH is afraid of needles and tends to be a worry wart so I think he would have made me too nervous by himself. I think my hospital only allows one person to be there during a c section. But my sister is a whole different story, she is really calm and cool and said she would act as my doula. She's also very knowledgeable about breastfeeding. She had flown in on my due date and I went late. We initially thought we would ask her to leave at some point but she was so chill and unintrusive that she stayed.
