I was in the school plays but I didn't hang out with the "drama geeks." I dyed my hair pink and wore men's doc martins like the punk kids but I wasn't really THAT into punk music. Out of the 2100 girls, there were three main 'tiers' with a few outliers - the rich, super popular snobby girls, the total nerds, and everyone in between. I was in the in between group. I had friends in the snobby group and in the nerdy group, but my best friends were middle tier like me. </p> <p>Bizarrely enough, our divides weren't based on intelligence, although we did have lots of tracking so you were in classes with a lot of the same girls every year, nor was it determined by activities, looks, or clothes (yay for uniforms!). I ran track and cross country, and I finished high school early. It was definitely a different life and I was a different person. I struggled a lot after my dad passed away when I was 16.</p> <p>@mrskc: I'm continually amazed at how much we have in common. I was also involved in Colorguard (prior to my dark days haha)! We went all the way to Nationals in Dayton, Ohio for Winter Guard and placed 7th. We also got a chance to perform in London.
