Do you think she's lactose intolerant? Any history in your families?
If she's getting enough dairy elsewhere I don't see why you can't take her off cow's milk? There are also other options out there for milk besides cow's milk.

ETA: read the series The Bees put together about constipation:
http://www.hellobee.com/2012/01/03/toddler-constipation-remedies/

Dairy is a leading cause for a lot of toddlers!

Some kids do not tolerate dairy very well in terms of constipation. If she is have a very tough time with GI issues, you may consider stopping for the time being and slowly reintroducing at a later date.

we switched DD over to whole milk a couple weeks ago and I think she's been having a lot of tummy trouble and pain since then. We've tried goat milk but she doesn't seem to like it as much. I've also read that using 2% or low fat milk may help. She eats a lot of fruit and whole grains, so I think she's getting enough fiber. She also drinks a lot of water or prune juice and gets lots of activity. I'm considering just taking her off milk altogether since I've also read that babies don't really need it after 12 months.

Did your LO get some tummy troubles after starting whole milk? Does it eventually get better, or did you switch to something else?
