He stopped spitting it up after a week maybe? He gets WCM at daycare but rarely at home since he still nurses on demand, but daycare says he's fine! In the first few days of transition he came home smelling like sour milk, bleh!

@Sapphiresun: glad it's working out for you! I think I'll pick some up next time I'm at the store. I do have some bags of pumped milk left so I could mix but I'd rather save those for the summer when we need a sitter. Although I guess once she's on WCM I don't really need the freezer stash.

How much WCM do you ladies give a day?

I'm just starting this with my 11 month old. She was EBF, and I don't pump so there wasn't much way to mix anything. I just give her 100% cows milk in her sippy cup and it doesn't seem to be an issue.

we went cold turkey too... he didn't seem to mind or notice, really :)

if it was just a little bit of spit up it may be unrelated? I'd try again and see if he spits up again, or feels uncomfortable. sounds like it went well, though! :)

I started mixing a dash into her formula at 11 months. Over the course of a few days, I added more and more each feed but when I got to 50/50 she started spitting up, so I pulled it back to 30/70 and took it more slowly. At 11.5 months, she is back up to 50/50 and drinking it well. When I gave her a bit in her sippy, undiluted, she spat it out!! Im hoping to hear some advice here!!

@Applesandbananas: how did the transition end up going? We are thinking of starting WCM soon, LO is 11 months. My plan is just to do a few oz a day since I'm still BF.

Ours did not spit up, but he makes an awful faces and doesn't drink more than a sip. We tried mixing it too. I am interested in hearing stories from others too.

No - but we did a gradual transition adding an oz of WCM each week. It took like 3 weeks but I was worried about constipation

We are transitioning LO to whole milk and while I had planned to ease into it with a ratio of breastmilk to whole milk, we decided to just give a bit in a sippy and see what LO thought. He drank it no problem but spat up a little bit later on.

Did your LO spit up during the transition to whole milk?
