I ended up doing it b/c there were a number of cases popping up around where i live so I did it. But my husband never did.... I had it in high school and was tested twice before getting a positive test result. I think you would know if you have had the disease - it's pretty unique from what I hear (with the whooping sound and all). There is a bad outbreak in Montana, and I don't want baby picking it up in a doctor's office! My NP said antibiodies the vaccine gives you while pregnant should last a few months in the baby. But yes, I will ask our in laws and maybe my husband's aunt who is a school teacher (though she's probably up to date) to get it. I won't "require" it for anyone to be around the baby though. I was able to check and see that we've both had the TDAP vac.
