I love that so many people are adopting and shelters are low on animals! I am a little worried though that when people are no longer working from home they realize they dont have time for a new pet and send them back to a shelter. I'm assuming rescues are talking to potential adopters about that though and making sure people arent just adopting dogs on a whim.</p> <p>We have a 12-13 year old dog and a 9 year old cat. Neither are super thrilled with our almost 12 month old daughter and her amount of energy. She said while it’s an awesome time to train a puppy, it’s not a great time to socialize one. I did look into adopting an older dog but our SPCA doesn’t have any available at the moment (which is a good thing!).</p> <p>I also had baby fever around Christmas last year and that very very quickly faded after the nostalgia was over and the new year hit so I’m going to give it a few months to see what happens to my puppy fever, ha. To be fair, we were planning on it eventually anyway but weren't in a big rush. Then a friend called and offered us her therapy mini, who my daughter adored when she met her last summer, so we couldn't pass it up. We're frantically building a paddock and converting a woodshed into a shelter. She said she's never done that before.</p> <p>We are also adopting a puppy this weekend. We've always kinda known we'd end up here but with no school and I'm outta work and dh is working from home we decided to take the plunge and adopt from a shelter....</p> <p>We're so crazy that IF they have an older dog as well that fits into our home we might adopt two!!!!</p> <p>My cousin said everyone has gone "Corona crazy"...lol</p> <p>Anybody else? </p>
