DS was itty bitty (4lbs 13oz) and was having a hard time regulating his own body temp so we did a lot of skin-to-skin and to promote him getting used to my scent so we could breast feed. I absolutely loved that time. It felt so empowering to be able to warm my baby that way and promote our bond. It was extremely important to me. It also included the baby staying with you 24/7 from birth to discharge, which was a huge change for the hospital. Nice! Now if only there was a "manlier" version for DH to wear.
