Yeah, we are getting better (he will be three next month) but 2.5 is no joke.... He's still tough, but it's definitely better (at least this week).

DS will be 3 in November as well so we're right in the thick of it. Add in a 3mo baby brother and things are getting worse. Now he's starting to realize that the baby isn't going anywhere so he's getting more possessive of DH and me. So that's fun. The tears come out of nowhere and you can't calm him down. 3's are supposed to be worse than 2's right? Awesome.

DS is 2 and thankfully, time outs have been effective. But once in awhile, he throws a huge tantrum for no flipping reason!! For instance, last night, we gave him his green sippy cup (the one we always give him in bed since it doesn't spill/leak). He started bawling and screaming and kept pointing to the kitchen. Apparently, he didn't want that cup. He wanted his straw cup he was drinking from earlier. He calmed down and when he was finished, he handed it back to me. When we tried to get him back in bed again, and handed him the green sippy cup, he wasn't having it. Cue major meltdown. again. DH had to ask him which cup he wanted and when DH appeared with the "right one". DS happily accepted it and all was well in the world again. Sigh.

This was us over the summer (I started a post about horrible 2-3 year old behavior). It has gotten SO much better though, and now he is generally capable of being reasoned with, and if he tantrums it generally only lasts a few minutes rather than a half hour meltdown. The biggest change was cutting out morning tv, and other than that having a zero whining tolerance policy. He was being so defiant and oppositional though, it was so hard!!

We are there already at 23 months. I am hoping it is also molars coming in but there is no denying that we are already deep in tantrum-ville. The things that set her off are utterly random. Like, DH got her out of bed this morning and said "let's go downstairs for breakfast" (which is literally what they do every single morning) and that apparently set off 10 straight minutes of hysterical screaming (because she wanted to stay in her room?). But last night our electricity went out and we had to change up her entire bedtime routine and she was totally fine. So weird.

Oh yes. In the thick of it. It started in the beginning of the summer. EVERYTHING is a fight. And I'm pregnant and have no patience. DS is 2.5

The past month or so I've been noticing more and more crazy toddler behavior. She cries at the store now which she used to NEVER do, she will flat out skip naps and some nights I'm having to go "put her to bed" somewhere between 3 to 5 times! It's nuts. I'm tired of the attitude and half the time I don't even want to say things to her anymore because I don't want to listen to any yelling. It's exhausting. That being said she's having another language boom and so she often pretty hilarious and entertaining. She just turned 2 on Saturday.

It's beginning for us. Part of it is teething, all of her molars are coming in at the same time, but there is so much sass coming from her that I just want to pull my hair out. She turns two in a couple of weeks.

My LO is giving me a run for my money lately! She has meltdowns about such interesting things. I opened up a little package of gummy snacks for her the other day and she totally flipped out because 1. I don't do it right and 2. She wants daddy to open them. Now, anytime she has some gummy snacks, she reminds me that I don't open them correctly and only daddy is allowed to do it. FINE! Get your own snacks, darnit!

The defiance level is off the charts lately. She's taken to skipping naps (the horror) if we don't time them exactly right or wear her out to the point of sheer exhaustion in the mornings.

Who is dealing with a tiny tyrant in their house right now? How are you dealing?

ETA: She'll be 3 in November.
