We have a pup and we had enough trouble finding him a home when we were in the hospital with LO. He has separation anxiety so he can't be left alone in someone else's house for fear that he'll eat things. Next time we'll have to worry about him and LO. Luckily I have both sets of grandparents here, and my brother and SIL. I know that the grandparents will want to be at the hospital and my brother and sister in law have a baby of their own to worry about, but I'm sure with all of those people we'll figure something out. I'm pregnant with #1, but we're already thinking about what to do with the puppy when it's baby time. We have a friend who has done some dog-sitting for us before, but we've only asked her to do weekends. During the week, we'll probably figure out a way to get him boarded at day care, but...depending on time of day and frazzled-ness, I haven't quite worked the whole thing out in my head yet. Neither of us has local family, and we're not having them come until after the baby arrives (possibly several days after, but that's a topic for another thread), so...puppy care is still up in the air. Admittedly not another child, but...still important! Except DH went home to put her to bed. My parents arrived in town around midnight, and then my mom stayed with her until we got out of the hospital a few days later. If they hadn't been, we would have called my mom, even though she had told us that we would need to get a babysitter. Then my parents watched them for the other two days we were in the hospital. The other day I mentioned to DH - wont it be a little sad and weird when were at the hospital with the new baby and DD will be away from us all night and most of the time during the day except when she comes to visit. I scheduled my parents to come up 2 weeks before my induction date. I even scheduled my MIL to come up the weekend before my induction date too. Everyone was in place a week before I was scheduled to be induced. I was almost 3 cm all week and having BH like crazy! Of course LMW ended up being super stubborn and staying in there until my induction date. Then it was eviction time.
