I don't yell. I do more of a quiet glare that makes my 2.5 yo stand at attention. I got that from my Dad :wink: DH is a pushover but has a tendency to yell when he gets frustrated. DH is very laid back and would let her run amok if he could, I think. I have expectations of her that I expect her to meet and rules I expect her to follow. Honestly, I think it's because that's how I was raised and DH was raised a lot less strictly. I think I'm the one that's more hands-off when it comes to him exploring, playing independently (within reason) while DH is very cautious about safety first. But when it comes to meal, sleep, etc. I'm more of the schedule person than DH. Though we are both very interested in the types of food DS eats! I think it's a good mix for us right now! For sure. I mean, LO is only 19 months but I have 'rules' about eating (she will sit in her chair, she won't throw food, she will practice using her utensils) and DH will like, feed her on the couch, with him doing all the feeding instead of letting her self-feed, and he will let her play with toys or run around while she eats. It drives me nuts. Also, when she whines or tantrums, I totally ignore or just redirect--DH is a total softie and will like, hold her for an hour if it stops her whining. Not me! I feel like I need to train her that I won't respond to that kind of behavior. I think some of it has to do with I'm home with her more so sometimes I just don't have the energy. LOL not a good excuse! He thinks I need to be stricter - I don't disagree- and I think he needs to be less strict sometimes. Sometimes I feel like he expects too much out of a almost 3 year old. He doesn't think I give enough credit to how smart she is. ;)
