I felt so bad for her and wished I'd been more clear that I only want DH to be there! Then when he was born, my BIL brought all three of his kids to meet their cousin - slightly awkward because I did not enjoy looking awful in front of all these people I'm not close to. Seriously. Nobody knew we were in the hospital until a few hours after she was born. It was glorious. My IL's showed up, after DH told them to wait a day. I wasn't feeling well after the csec (throwing up) and REALLY wanted to be left alone. They didn't care and showed up anyway. Although we had DD at 11 PM, and my mom and my sister were already at the hospital (because my dad was in the same hospital for a different issue, and they came up to labor and delivery without my consent. It was a little weird with nursing but we managed and it wasn't that bad.</p> <p>After experiencing pregnancy, labor/delivery and postpartum recovery, I just do what I need to do and let other people absorb the awkwardness. If I need to breastfeed in public or have some other medical issue, then I am going to do what I need to do to address it. I don't have the time or energy to worry about it any more. I like the guy! Labor and birth was just such a sensitive raw emotional experience that it just felt awkward to me. Ha! Reading some of the stories on another thread about privacy tho, I know this was "nothing"! :shocked: </p>
