@SleepyMonkey: yes. I think you just put it into words for me. LO wakes up after I leave in the morning so it's just at night that I nurse her. I can't imagine my body sustaining that, but who knows.

Are you nervous that if you stop pumping during the day that your supply will take a hit and you wont have enough milk to nurse at night? I was nervous about that too but I quit pumping at 1 year and I nursed just morning and night for two more months. So it is possible! I probably could have gone longer but I wanted to be done with it.

@autumnlove: Ah, that would be tough. LO will drink whole milk straight, but I'm still mixing with BM when I have it around.

@grizz: Ditto. I wonder if nursing just turns into comfort, not for the nutrition and it doesn't matter if the supply drops because we drop pumps at work. I feel pretty uneducated on this topic!

@grizz: @theknest: I need to try to cut back to once a day. The crazy thing is, I've always struggled with low supply. I mean I get max of 3 ounces per pump. So why oh why am I not just cutting out a pump? I'll have to try next week.

Oh, and also - I still nurse whenever on the weekends. I guess that may come back to bite me, but it works for now.

Oh no! I was emotionally attached to it too. Can you maybe cut your pumping back to once/day?

I'm pumping too! LO has issues with dairy and won't drink milk substitutes.

LO turned a year a few weeks ago and I was SO excited to stop pumping at work (I work FT). I came into work all proud the day after and a few hours in started getting hot, nauseous and needing to pump. So instead of zero pumping, now I'm pumping twice at work and nursing before bed.

It's been two weeks and I haven't adjusted anything. I can't figure out why. Why am I not trying to wean? Did any of you have an emotional tie to it? I really wanted to nurse only at night, but I guess maybe my mind wants to nurse a couple times if its on the weekend? I feel crazy. But I honestly do HATE pumping, and especially washing them. Please someone talk me off the ledge. What did you do around a year? :silly:
