Haha we have a Drinkwell water fountain water bowl for our cats, and if I turn my back for a minute DS will do the worm across the living room until he can reach it, pull the thing towards him and then stick his hands into the fountain part. He hasn't been allowed anywhere near the cat food yet because I know he will try to eat it.

My sister's son loves the dog bowls, and the dogs in general. They would pick up the food bowl right away, but try to leave the water for him and my nephew loved to go splash in it. Now he pretends to actually be a dog-- he holds the leash to his neck and crawls on all fours, if the dogs are standing behind a gate (like, locked out of the kitchen while they eat) he will go over and get on his hands and knees on their side of the gate... he wants to actually be a dog. He's two, I don't know when he will grow out of it!

We had the same problem but that's actually how we got our LO to crawl! We would move our dog's food bowl around the room and she would crawl towards it! She stopped a couple of weeks later.

Yup - whenever LO sees the cat getting treats she will try to get the treats and eat them. I turned my back for a second the other day and when I turned back around, LO had shoved 2 cat treats in her mouth!! The cat just looked on, in utter shock and horror.

As soon as she learned how to crawl, the first place M went was to our dog's bowl. Now, as soon as she sees the dogs eating, she crawls right over to the dog bowls and sticks her hand down in the bowl (while the dogs are eating!) Thankfully we have docile animals. :) I've started putting her in the exersaucer while the dogs eat.

Why do you think our lo's are so obsessed with dog food/bowls? When does this fascination end?
