Like @ShootingStar said, us Nov '13 moms had different threads and I really liked it that way. It was helpful to have the due date list with all the moms participating which helped to keep everyone straight. There was also a gender and a baby name thread so you could see these important updates.

The bulk of the discussion took place in the main thread which allowed the organic flow of conversation. I think we really had a great system.

For Nov '13 we started out with a bunch of separate thread topics, but eventually all the threads were neglected except the main one. Like others said, it's easier to have one on-going conversation.

Someone in our Oct 2013 thread suggested making different posts but a few of us "voted" no (at least I did) and we never did them. A few reasons- it's nice to have it all in one place, just one thread to catch up on. I would have forgotten to check them all and would have missed things.

Also I hate when a monthly group will do a separate thread without the "MONTH YEAR" in it (ex: "DEC 2014 Moms Bump Pics") because then I end up clicking in and reading, missing that its' for just that month, and then realize I'm kind of busting in on their thread. Not that you can't jump in, comment, etc, but when I think it's just bump pics, for example, it gets weird when people don't realize it's just for that months' moms.

like other people said, our conversations are just a big run on of whatever's occurring in that moment. Plus, when your time is limited, it helps to just go to one place, find the last spot you responded from, and read everything going forward to catch up. If I had to go to many locations I either just wouldn't or I'd miss something.

Yep what everyone else said, its just a long conversation so it'd be really hard to split it up into separate topics.

I think when new topics are started in a month they tend to get "lost". Keeping track of just the name of your month is enough! But it would be nice to have a sticky post within that thread that can be edited (like for due dates/appointments) so we don't have to keep reposting it or going back and searching for it.

Can you make a sticky topic for each due date month so one person can moderate the list and only keep the list in there?

There are so many relevant topics that we due date twins are going through at the same time that it would be way too hard to keep up with separate threads.

For us (March 2013), we just talk about whatever crosses our minds and it's just one long discussion. It would be awkward to try to break it up into smaller threads since one conversation might spark another which will spark another, etc.

Since we're all at the same point of pregnancy, the older posts about the early years of pregnancy aren't relevant to the people in the due date communities. So it's an on going thread, since we're all gradually talking through the whole pregnancy and baby phase. :)

Even when they are separated, I find that the conversations flow into one another, so some of them eventually get neglected. It is nice to have a separate appointment thread sometimes, but if people dont check it, I will sometimes cross post to the main thread.

i actually never participated regularly in my due date threads when i was pregnant because they were so long. i found them hard to keep up with. perhaps for my next pregnancy, i will be the initiate several threads for different topics.

Some due date months separate their topics (names, appointments, cravings, etc.) and others keep to one long conversation. It lets everyone get to know each other better, I think! Otherwise people might skip threads they don't find interesting (or don't apply to them) but by one long thread, you read mostly everything and get to learn about your fellow month moms.

For Februrary 2014 we've separated some topics, like nurseries and bump pics, but for general updates and discussions we just post on the main thread. I'm not sure how we would separate It otherwise.

I've seen some due date clubs separate their appointment, symptoms, and update threads though. That seems like a good idea.

I think if I posted a new topic everytime I had an update and everyone else did the same it would be a big jumble of a mess. lol

Does anyone know why due date posts all in one giant thread?
