My baby is pretty much active at all times of the day. I'm starting to learn her patterns and I'm realizing that I will never sleep for 8 hours a stretch again.

I've always heard it had to do with how your blood sugar changes when you go to sleep. Hmmm...maybe I'll look it up.

During the day I would only notice him periodically- on the morning commute, at lunch time, and on the drive home. Cameron was most active from 8-10 pm, then I'd never notice him once I went to sleep. I know during the day I would get so busy that I definitely didn't notice anything he did. He did like to sleep in a lot- of course now that he is out, his patterns are changing.

also, i think it's when you're still that you realize just how active they are. when you're active, you don't feel it as much. at 27 weeks though, they get active at all times of the day.

@winniebee: You sit a lot during the day, but all those trips to the printer, bathroom, lunch, etc. will rock him back to sleep. At night, you move a lot less so he's a lot more active.

@artbee: Interesting! Lately, I've been just sitting at my desk lately so thought he would be more active.

Your movement during the day puts them to sleep because they're rocking back and forwarth. So at night time when you're still they like to be awake.

They are awake all night to make sure that you never have a full night's sleep again. I think my last uninterrupted sleep was in July, 2009!

I'm just about 21 weeks and have been been feeling baby boy move more and more (have an anterior placenta so it took pretty much til 20 weeks). I feel a few kicks during the day here and there....but at night, he goes nuts! Like an hour after dinner until I go to sleep. Then, if and when I wake up at night to pee (and I always do) around 3 or 4 a.m. he's going nuts again, sometimes making it hard for me to go back asleep! Why is that? I love any movement I can get now....but is there a way to sleep train a fetus? LOL
