I dunno but my LO doesn't go to daycare and I swear 90% of his grouchy days are on the weekend! I guess with us, it's different because DH is home and exciting but you're not alone :)

@grizz: he's eating quite a bit at daycare (there have been days they've fed him 16oz in 8 hours) so I don't think he's reverse cycling. He may just want more mommy snuggles, sometimes he's really clingy in the evenings when I pick him up. It's just hard trying to do the laundry, the dishes, sweep, mop, etc when he refuses to be put down :(

@mrbee: maybe, but he goes into meltdown mode on Thursday night, after spending all day at daycare. :(

Reverse cycling? They talked about it at our last LLL meeting and it sounds similar.

Maybe he likes the structure of the schedule at daycare?

@brownie: I'm definitely more relaxed. I'm not rushing around trying to prep daycare bottles and wash pump parts. There's more snuggling. But as far as bedtime goes, I still change his diaper, put on pajamas, and nurse with the lights off.

I would go with knowing something is different. I bet you do something different Thursday evenings and it cues him. Even if you are more relaxed (or more tense). Kids are amazing in intuiting those things. I feel the same way every weekend and daycare says all the kids come in more tired on Mondays.

I swear LO has a calendar hidden in his rnp. I work M-H off on Fridays. From Thursday night-Sumday night, he's a hot mess. At first I thought it was the transition back to work and he just missed me during the day/week and needed extra mommy snuggles. Then I thought it was the 3 month growth spurt. Then a wonder week? Then the four month sleep regression???

I'm losing it. I'd chalk it up to him getting more stimulation at daycare if it was starting on Friday night, but it's starting Thursday night. He doesn't sleep well, he wants to nurse constantly, he's super clingy, he screams when I put him down.

This weekend has been the worst but he's in a wonder week and he is 2 days shy of 4 months so I'm thinking maybe another growth spurt? I don't even know. I'm just deliriously exhausted, my house is a wreck, I've been trying to cook and clean and do laundry and dishes and soothe and nurse LO.

What is going on with my kiddo? It's making weekends totally miserable (though I do love the extra snuggles!) I can't pinpoint any deviation from our typical routine.
