We tried to ask the tech and always got a no (I had two 20 weeks scans cause the first time LO didn't cooperate and they couldn't get all the head measurements). DH and I were so psyched and had a charged camera all ready, so we were really disappointed. They did give us printouts but I was really hoping to get it on video, especially when they announced the sex. I'm guessing it's for the liability reasons, and every clinic is different that way. My OB actually doesn't even do any of the ultrasounds except for the first one. He refers all his patients out to a perinatologist to do the NT screen and the anatomy scan. I had a c-section and they said absilutely no video in there or for a vaginal birth. Except my office screwed up the whole process and wound up giving me someone else's DVD and never actually recorded mine. Annoying!!!</p> <p>I know the fact that I had someone else's DVD is a huge HIPPA violation, so maybe the same goes for your situation. They can't have random medical records out and about in the world, because of privacy laws, although what's the difference between that and a printout of a picture? Or maybe they don't want people recording in case they need to give bad news.
