I do, and I know that many pediatricians are not on the same page as I am.</p> <p>I had a severe adverse reaction to a vaccine as well as another medication. Some pediatricians will not hear of delaying and spacing out vaccines, to the point of not treating an unrelated illness should you refuse to follow the prescribed schedule. It would be grossly irresponsible of me to approach the vaccine and medication issues casually, in the event that my kids have my degree of susceptibility, and it would be grossly irresponsible of me to use a pediatrician who does not understand and work with my concerns. I don't interview any doctors that I go to myself beforehand. Is it because we go to see pediatricians so often and the relationship can last for many many years? Is it because we need to know that they can respond right away in case of emergencies? </p>
